Most eating problems stem from a lack of clear thinking. Whether the issue is over eating, under eating or poor choices, mindfulness can help!
I am pretty good at making healthy choices. For me the main challenge is to eat in moderation. I find something I love and I get the urge to carry on and to eat loads of whatever it is. Because it is normally something healthy I find it more difficult to resist.
Although fruit is super healthy it still doesn’t do me any favours to eat it in massive quantities. It is full of natural sugar and it can really play havoc with my digestive system when I have too much. Nonetheless it is very moreish!
Making some fruit kebabs is a great way to be more mindful in your eating, here’s why…
1) On a kebab stick the fruit looks amazing, the colour contrasts are beautiful. This helps you to really appreciate the experience before you even get started on tasting it.
2) Tasting one fruit at a time as you slide it along the stick allows you to savour the taste more slowly and more fully.
3) The kebab naturally gives you a helping hand with portion control, each time you decide to take another you are making a conscious decision!
