Today I took an hour out to watch an episode in a series called The Clique on BBC iplayer. It was quite a rare thing for me to do.
There have only been two in the series so far but it already has me gripped.
I don’t watch a lot of TV but having the option to watch things on catch up makes it more possible for me to get into a series.
I got to thinking how being absorbed in a TV series can actually be quite a mind changer…
Rather than feeling the need to be productive or worrying about things I simply spent an hour engrossed in the programme. Just watching.
Meditation is all about giving our minds some time off. Mindfulness is about getting to know your mind.
Every day my mind needs time off. But it also needs some sort of relaxing activity and engagement.
Our Minds can only think about one thing at once. So filling our mind with something else can be a relief. Every now and then getting engrossed in something new is just perfect for my mind.
Getting to know your mind better could mean that you are able to adopt a much more varied and healthy approach to metal well being.
