Yesterday my sister asked me if I could pop over and let her dog, Freddie, out into the garden for a while.
It was a lovely sunny day and Freddie was delighted to be let out into the warmth. She leapt about as I opened the door, so pleased to have a visiter.
I gave her a fuss and then she disappeared off for a sniff around the garden. I felt I should give her a few minutes outside so I decided to use my time to sit down and do a Meditation.
I absolutely love it when I get the opportunity for a mini meditation in the middle of my day. It feels like a great opportunity to settle myself again and to enjoy some me time! A real bonus.
So I sat down on the warm patio and then I felt like lying down, so I did. Right where I was. I set my timer because I only had a few minutes to spare.
Only a minute or so into the meditation I felt a warm nose resting on my hand. Then Freddie climbed on and sat on my tummy. She sat still and very happily for the next 4 minutes until the timer went off.
Freddie totally picked up on my deep breathing and enjoyed the relaxation that it brought to her too.
Dogs are great at picking up on our moods and when we sit to Meditate they tune into this too. If you have a dog try sitting and focussing on your breath for a few minutes whilst they are in the same room.
You will be amazed at how they are drawn to calm and how they want to be with you when you are still and relaxed. You become a magnet!
Bringing calm into your life will make a difference to everyone around you. Pets and people will all love your company even more if you can provide some calm and comfortable company.
