Today I led a Meditation session which focussed on Creativity, Change and Opportunity.
Basically everything in life can be made better with Mindfulness! It really does give you the tools to be resilient and to thrive rather than struggle through life.
Amazingly the tools are simple.
I promised the group a mini meditation on the blog so here goes…
Set the time on your phone for 2-5 minutes depending on what suits.
Sit up straight with your back supported.
Take a few deep breaths to get plenty of oxygen in.
Then let the breath go back to normal.
See if you can detect a rising and falling sensation.
Try to keep your mind on this sensation.
Each time it drifts off bring your attention back when you notice.
Repeat this process and after 6 or 7 repeats let your mind go wherever it wants. It can think about absolutely anything.
Then bring your attention back to the body, notice the weight of your body on the chair, the feeling of your feet on the floor.
Then have a stretch and open your eyes.
Your timing won’t be perfect first time but soon your will become good at making your meditation fit the time slot – keep trying and you will get there.
LOVE the feeling you have created. Calm, peaceful, open minded and ready for anything.
