This morning I had LOADS to do.
It is Noah’s fifth birthday this weekend and we have lots on. I needed to do a big shop and a big wrapping session and I was on the back of an all night work shift.
So This morning I needed my Mindfulness…and sure enough it got me through.
I Got Noah off to school, with a big kiss and cuddle, and then set about a bit of me time to keep me calm and enjoying life.
Post Meditation I took the dogs for a walk. Despite the busy nature of my thoughts my head was clear enough to notice the trees blowing in the breeze. I was present in the moment enough to enjoy the sunshine. I LOVED the fresh air, it was almost like drinking cold water.
Pre Mindfulness all of the good bits of today could quite easily have passed me by. I would have been lost in thought.
Now I Meditate I can feel a huge shift in my brain. I have got to the stage where I check in with myself regularly. If my mind has been swept away by thought I notice and I can bring myself back to the moment.
It may sound like a bit of a vague concept but once you get a taste of this ability to come back to reality when you chose, you really will love the difference.
What not start today. Right now in fact. Sit up straight, close your eyes and just let yourself experience the moment fully. If your mind drifts off just come back to your experience, right now.
Simple, but AMAZING.
