A study from the University of Massachusetts showed that eating apples can lessen the odds of getting Alzheimer’s and can keep us mentally sharp as we get older.
2) Meditate and become mindful. A study published in Psychological Science and led by Michael Mrazek,showed that “Mindfulness Training Improves Working Memory Capacity and Performance While Reducing Mind Wandering”. It surprised the researchers with its clear-cut results. Undergraduate students were allocated randomly to either a mindfulness class or a class on nutrition. They all took a test of verbal reasoning and a working memory capacity test before and after the classes.The mindfulness students scored significantly better on the tests after their course whereas the nutrition students showed no improvement.
