Today I took my lovely niece to have her nail painted as a Birthday treat. Whilst we were there I had my Tarot cards read.
I didn’t really know anything about Tarot and the lady who read my cards was just learning, she offered to do it, and used her book to look up the meaning of the cards that I picked out.
It struck me how Mindfulness went hand in hand with the cards. Whilst the cards had meanings the interpretation of the cards was really a chance to direct my reflections.
One of my cards was of a person carrying way too many sticks. His legs were starting to buckle. It has been on my mind for a while that I need to be better at saying ‘no’. I need to stop carrying so many sticks at the same time.
So the card wasn’t telling me what to do but it helped me to take my focus to something that was already on my mind!
I loved the experience of having my cards read. I am always open to new ways to use my Mindfulness. It isn’t going to be the new direction to my life but as a one off it was a great experience.
Being open to new experiences is a great way to enjoy life. Looking out for chances to reflect on where we are going and the direction of our life has to be beneficial. If we don’t keep an eye on where we are going then we may find ourselves somewhere we don’t want to be.
If you fancy taking some time to reflect on the way things are going for you then why not try a Revitalise Session. Mindfulness is all about creating some clarity of thought. A little time to slow down and let your mind settle could be all it takes to see things clearly.
