Yesterday I read a blog about heathy eating. It was about how as a society we all eat too much.
It recommended a really simple tactic. It sounds so obvious it is ridiculous….but it strikes me that few of us do it. I know I don’t.
So this is the trick…
Only eating when we are hungry!
So the idea is that you only eat when your tummy actually rumbles. It explained that this was the digestive system letting you know it was ready for more.
So as soon as read it I decided to try it. I had already had my dinner and I was working until 5am. Usually during a night shift I would snack quite a lot. But wth my new rule I simply waited.
Not until lunch time today did my tummy rumble! AMAZING!
And the best thing was that because I had waited I really appreciated my lunch when I had it.
SO I think the rumbling tummy rule is one I shall try more often. It will help to stop mindless eating and help me to appreciate everything I do eat more.
