Today I went to Odd John’s which is a trendy local cafe. Noah was on a introductory morning at school and so I took the opportunity for a bit of ‘me time’. I ordered a coffee and settled down to write my daily blog.
Approached in the wrong way my blog every day could seem like another job to get done in an already busy life. However, approached as a bit of time just for me it becomes a total treat.
Sitting surrounded by new mum’s discussing their babies, weaning, lack of sleep and tummy troubles I felt very lucky, relaxed and happy. I have had a good nights sleep, I have some time for myself and my boy seems so grown up and happy when he sets off for school on the bus.
Having a happy state of mind changes everything we do. Our minds are generally programmed to recall negative thoughts more often than positive ones but Mindfulness can allow you to change this tendency.
Try activly noticing the positives in your life by writing them down. This is what my blog does for me. Every day I see the positives because I write about them. This means that my mind has a daily dose of positivity and this spreads to the rest of my life. It makes me happy.
