A Family Affair – With Mindfulness

Martyn’s daughter Lauren has been staying with us for a couple of weeks. We have a had a lovely Christmas but today has been the best day yet.

This morning we went to a couple gym classes together. We did a spin class this morning and a pilates class afterwards. Then on an exercise high we went for a coffee together.

After a shopping trip this afternoon we set off on a walk to the neighbouring village. As we walked across the fields we had a real heart to heart. We talked bout EVERYTHING. Then we had a drink in the pub.

It amazes me how exercise really opens our minds and hearts. Rather than being stuck in our own little world we become so much more empathetic and understanding.

Mindfulness is a great tool for building our self awareness. Rather than becoming stubborn and rigid in our approach to others we can learn to create the right environment for love and understanding.
