Last night I was working late and to make the experience even nicer I had the most beautiful tulips on my desk.
When I needed a break from the screen (because my eyes needed a rest) I found myself taking in the detail of the tulips.
I have been on plenty of Mindfulness workshops and courses where they have encouraged us to observe flowers really carefully. You see the imperfections but then appreciate that they do not take away form the overall beauty. A good lesson in life and confidence.
But yesterday as I looked at the Tulips I was drawn in to the centre of the flowers because they had just opened. They are so intricate and just totally amazing in their structure. No imperfections – just perfect and stunning.
A day on, and they are past that amazing stage of perfection. But just by being aware of them at that time, when they had just opened, I was lucky enough to see them in their freshly opened beauty.
Every day new beginnings start in all sorts of areas. Everything passes through stages. By taking a break from the everyday and pausing – just for a minute – we stand a much better chance of seeing more of the amazing sights that the word has to offer.
Why wouldn’t you?
