Mindful living is all about being in the moment, about making the right choices in the here and now. Many of us tend to drift through our day without a specific intention. Just a little bit of mindful thought could really change things.

1) When you wake in the morning take some time before you break fast. Before you consume anything establish an intention for the day, it might be to only eat when you are hungry. It might be to only eat things that nourish your body.
2) As you go through the day each time you think of eating pause and question your intention. Are you eating because you are bored, for comfort or because you are genuinely hungry? Each time you portion up food on your plate ask yourself, are you nourishing your body?
3) Each day when you go to bed take some time to mentally run through your days food intake. Did you manage to stick to your intention? Notice how you feel.
Never beat yourself up if you fail to stick to your intention. Just start again. Make the next thing you eat something that will make you feel good.
