Today I looked at the weather forecast because I was thinking about our plans for the next few days. When would be good for Noah and I to go riding, and where should we meet our friends on Saturday morning for a catch up.
The weather showed rain, rain and more rain!
Surprisingly it didn’t get me down. I actually saw it as an opportunity to chill out a bit, I have had a hectic week and the idea of being inside a bit more actually seems quite appealing!
It got me thinking about how much difference a positive outlook makes to life. Here are 3 easy ways to be more positive…
1) Put a smile on your face. Even if your smile is false at first, the act of putting a smile on your face will bring a smile to your inner being. Try it now. You may feel a little silly to start with but this should help you find a bit more happiness!
2) Come back to the moment and be aware. When we slip in to excessive planning our thoughts can start to become more negative. As human beings we have an inbuilt tendency to foresee things going wrong. By coming back to the present moment you are likely to notice that actually, everything is ok!
3) Embrace the situation. What ever situation you are facing there is usually a positive in there. Start to make a list of the positives. Once you get into the swing of noticing positives it will come much more easily.
