Fitting Mindfulness in can be a real challenge – simply because life is busy. Finding ways be Mindful in your everyday is a great way to relieve stress and to enjoy life more.
Here are 3 easy ways to be more Mindful… try them over the Easter break!
1) Notice the experience of eating each time you do it (maybe with your easter eggs?!). On a very basic level notice that you are chewing, enjoy the flavour, love the aftertaste. Taking your attention to the experience takes your focus to the present moment.
2) Notice the movement of your body when you walk (walk off the Easter eggs?!). Feel each foot hit the floor. Think about switching on your abdominal muscles, using your glutes, pushing off with your toes. You will be stronger and getting more muscle tone as you go!
3) Each time you sit down notice the weight of your body on the chair (hopefully not increased by excess chocolate!). Feel the support that the chair gives you. Notice how grounded you feel. Just allowing your body and mind a moment to settle will revive you. Do it often and keep your energy levels high.
By fitting in these mini moments of mindfulness you will become more comfortable with being present in the moment rather than living life lost in thought. Perfect. Enjoy Easter more!
